Our reading series is Scott Foresman Reading Street. You can access the Reading Street 5th grade site through Power School. The primary goal of our Reading/Language Arts/Writing curriculum is to foster development of readers and writers – students who are not only competent readers and writers, but who view reading and writing as an integral part of their lives.
The following is a list of our 5th grade themes
5-1 Meeting Challenges
5-2 Doing the Right Thing
5-3 Inventors and Artists

4. Learn and apply knowledge of print, phonological awareness, structural analysis skills, fluency strategies, vocabulary skills, and comprehension strategies to construct meaning of grade level text.
5. Identify and use appropriate resources to locate information to be applied to learning goals.
